The short version. Honeytime has no sign-up and no ads, and never sells or shares personal data. Honeytime never knows which apps your child uses.
Who we are
Honeytime is made by Anusandhan Pokhrel, Pokhara 17, Kaski, Gandaki 33700, Nepal. Contact: support@honeytime.app or +977 986 604 6609.
What stays on your child's device
The parents' PIN, the apps you chose to limit and how much each one is used (Apple's Screen Time keeps this; Honeytime can't see app names), your settings, stories read, quiz scores and the diagnostics log.
What goes to your own iPhone, if you connect it
Stories read, quiz scores, daily minutes used and earned, your child's first name and age as entered in setup, and the plan status. It travels through your family's own iCloud (Apple's CloudKit). Honeytime has no servers and cannot read it. Removing a child in the app deletes their reports from your iCloud.
Anonymous setup analytics
To improve setup, Honeytime sends anonymous events from setup and the paywall to PostHog, a US analytics service: which setup steps were reached; setup answers (your child's age in years, a rough daily screen-time bucket, what's hardest about screen time, the interests you picked, and where you heard about us); whether the demo story was finished; whether permissions were granted; how many apps were picked; paywall views, plan choice, purchase and restore results, and changes to the plan's status; and when a parent's phone first connects. The analytics library also adds the device type, system version, app version and language. Each install has a random analytics ID.
No names, typed text, app usage, Screen Time data or reading activity is sent. IP addresses are not stored and location is not recorded. You can turn this off at any time in Parents → Settings → "Share anonymous setup analytics".
PostHog keeps analytics events for the period its plan sets: 1 year on the free plan and up to 7 years on paid plans (PostHog's retention policy). We can delete the events of an install on request.
Purchases
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We never see payment details.
Children's privacy
Honeytime is set up and controlled by a parent. We don't collect personal information from children beyond what a parent enters in setup and the reading activity described above, which stays on the family's devices and in the family's iCloud.
A parent can review or delete it at any time: remove a child in Settings on the parent's phone, delete the app to remove the data on a device, and email us to delete the analytics of an install. We don't use children's data for advertising, and we don't share it with third parties, except the anonymous setup analytics above, which a parent can turn off.
How long data is kept
Data on a device stays until the app is deleted. Data in iCloud stays until you remove the child in Honeytime or delete it in your iCloud settings. Analytics are kept as described above.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR or US state laws, you can ask to see or delete your data. Email support@honeytime.app.
